Why I built ResumeMatch Pro

I am Humera Iqbal, a founder from Ontario with fifteen years of experience in leadership and technology. ResumeMatch Pro originated in my classroom: while teaching at Lambton College, I found that students increasingly sought my guidance on their resumes and on aligning their qualifications with available positions.

Every student merits a genuine opportunity, and every student deserves one. I devoted my weeknights and weekends, in addition to my full-time responsibilities, to reviewing resumes and recommending improvements. As word spread beyond my own class, the volume of requests grew, and reviewing resumes individually became unsustainable.

I resolved to build a solution. I examined how applicant tracking systems (ATS) evaluate and rank resumes, drawing on articles and publications from the ATS providers themselves and other credible sources, in order to determine what genuinely strengthens a candidate's prospects and to give my students a measurable advantage.

The platform consolidates everything deliberately: match scoring, resume and cover letter tailoring, LinkedIn guidance, job tracking and interview preparation. Effective tools should neither be fragmented across numerous websites nor priced beyond reach, so I set the price at a level a student without employment can afford.

ResumeMatch Pro began with my students. It is now available to anyone, in any industry, across North America, and we are extending access globally. The work also led me to found HME Solutions, which develops custom AI solutions for small businesses.
